New Freddy video!
August 12, 2008
Finally!
I just finished making my new music video for “We’re Not Going Down”. Check it out below or over at WereNotGoingDown.com (live link). It’s a duet with Matt Bair, formerly of Band Camp. With the direction the country is heading in, I’ve been inspired to act and to do something to enact change. Hopefully, the song will inspire you in the same way.

Home Sweet Home!
July 14, 2008
So I’m in New York for the first time in basically 3 months!!! (I was here for like 2 hours last month to visit my Mom but then flew right back to Dallas.)
It’s UNBELIEVABLE.
I don’t think I’ve ever appreciated the concept of “home” more in my life. Seriously though. The homemade food, the feel of your own pillows and sheets — there’s a smell and taste that is only true to home.
And of course the best thing of all…is family.
I think the most underrated human phenomenon is unconditional love. How crazy is it, that as sensitive as we all are, there are one or two or (if we’re lucky) a few people in our lives that continue to love us…no matter what.
A mother, a father, a sister, a brother, a husband, a wife, a dog(?), a friend. To know that someone will ALWAYS be there for you is the greatest knowledge in the world.
I learned that today, after a much needed trip home, hug from my parents, kiss from my girlfriend, and lick from my dog.
More to come,
F
PS – Don’t get me wrong. I am in love with Texas…just needed to remember where I was from…
JULY 4TH, MATT SQUIRE and 7-ELEVEN
July 8, 2008
Okay. I think it’s safe to say that July 4th was…RIDONKULOUS. I’m gonna be honest; I was scared. I knew that a bunch of people would come out, but c’mon – enough to fill a stadium? I’ve been back and forth between Dallas and L.A. so much that I figured you guys forgot all about me! Course I never expressed my “I’m only gonna fill 1/100th of Pizza Hut Park” fear to anyone, but trust me, I felt it. Fortunately, all thanks to you guys, the place was freakin PACKED! Word on the street is that over TWENTY ONE THOUSAND people watched our band perform. How crazy is that??? The stage was ginormous, by the way, and so high tech. The best part of all was that Yamaha gave me a sick grand (okay sick baby grand!) piano for the show. You can see some footage of me playing it on YouTube. And actually, that wasn’t the best part. The best part was that my family and best friends flew to Texas for the show. It’s amazing to experience real friendship. Seriously.
Oh! And Laura and I got back together J
Next. As you may or may not know, I’ve been in LA finishing up 2 tracks for my album. I was supposed to be done by now, but I just had to record to more that were beating up the insides of my brain. The songs are called “Nothing Lasts Forever” (which I butchered on-air at the piano) and “Even If” (you know, the song that’s been written/produced/arranged in so many different ways, and you guys chose Version C?) – So this producer (Matt Squire) is legitimately a producer. Sounds weird, no? Well, it’s not. A lot of these so-called producers just aren’t all that great. They might get the drums to sound great or the guitar to sound edgier, but they don’t deliver the song you have in your head – the one you know so intimately well, but can’t express for the life of you. Well this dude did. And to use his word de jour, it’s pretty ballerado. By the way, if you think I look like the guy from Entourage, wait til you see this guy. It’s weird.
But not as weird as the 7-Eleven webisode we just shot. This was supposed to be done in Dallas, the morning after our Frisco show, but we were waaaaaay to tired. So we tried in LA. I haven’t even explained what it is we were trying to do.
So I’ll do that.
You know how on July 25th, we’re opening for Good Charlotte at House of Blues? You know how tickets are seven dollars and eleven cents? Okay – that’s because 7-Eleven is sponsoring the event! And to say thank you, me and the band went to a 7-Eleven to shoot a lil webisode. We decided to go late (post-11pm) to avoid crowds of people. Perhaps we should’ve gone earlier to avoid “post-11pm people.” Ha. Who knows. But yeah, we went in to buy slurpies. Five guys with no cash and a bunch of instruments…just singing for their slurpies.
They went in four boys and a man (Hi Randy).
They came out five men.
What?!
But seriously, wait til you see this. It’s absurd…the characters in the video…the songs we’re singing. I haven’t had that much fun in a long time…
Thanks so much to everyone who came out to Frisco.
You truly made that a night I will never, ever forget.
Out.

The Band
June 28, 2008
Yooooo,
So I realize that in all these posts I never really gave you guys the lowdown on the band I’m putting together. Let’s start with talent. This band is PHENOMENAL. I’ve never played with a tighter group.
These guys are HAWT.
What if I actually talked like that?
Seriously, though, let me give you a quick introduction:
RJ3:
Randy – He’s the drummer, music director, and legend. LEGEND.
Josh – Bass player and groove-a-tron; ALIAS, Giraffe; he’s like 7 feet tall!
Jon-O – This guy’s our guitarist from the land down under. Rhythm of the last samurai.
Jacob – Last but certainly not least, the other guitarist. Known for his power and precision with striking.
Why are those descriptions so WEIRD?
We’ve been preparing for our big July 4th show at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco…where at least 15,000 people are coming! And we’ve got a pretty huge lineup to prepare – 16 songs. Of those 16 we’ve already worked through 12 – seriously, it’s gonna be siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick.
Anyway, back to the practice room for me…
